Hello guys!
The issue is urgent!
Project deadline is coming and our team is stuck with render timings!
We have 2000 frames long scene.
We use Physical render.
GI (primary QMC + secondary Light Mapping)
We use render farm via Team Render - 4 Nodes with installed Team Render Clients.
When we render short 0-11 sequence, render time for each frame is about 3 min.
When we set range to 0-2000, render time is rising to 7 min per frame.
I'm comparing the first frames. No expansive dynamics computing is needed on frame 0. But difference is drastic. I cannot explain it. Looking for any logical explanation...
It's not the problem of downloading assets. If I monitor Team Render Clients Log I can see that downloading assets takes several seconds. Then It says "Rendering frame 0" and stucks for minutes.
With secondary GI set to None the problem remains.
With GI turned off problem is gone.
So GI is the cause.
When I render scene on my local machine only, render process slows distinctly on "Preparing..."
When we use Team Render, I open up Windows Perfomace Manager and can see Render Node CPU usage dynamics. CPU is running about 20% the most of time. I think It is "Preparing..." stage of rendering. And only for last 1 minute CPU is running 100%. It's the stage of actual rendering.
So I want to ask:
1. What is it preparing?
2. Why does it take quicker for shorter sequences while all the scene with all animation remains the same?
