spore character rigging

Hello, maybe someone can help me out. I have Spore with collada export installed and want to bring somecharacters somehow to iclone. so first i must convert it to obj or fbx or 3ds or some other format. I can choose if i want to bring it in with the bones from spore or just a blank riggless mesh. i found interesting videos and also webpages where there a different ways described. But 1 video i found offers a way thru blender and hides some of the "to Much" bones. does anybody found a nicer way to do this conversation? Is it less pain to switch of these bones and start with a blank boneless mesh. Also it would be cool to import the spore character rig into daz3d for "genesis" it. also i found that carrara is able to open the mesh with the bones but iam to fresh for it. there is a programm called rigmesh but i dont know it very good. It would be awesome to get a few hints about starting with a blank mesh or tyring to convert the exstience bones to a working rig for daz3d or iclone.
